Approaching Manitoulin Island
Arriving at Manitoulin Island, we skim along the south shore of
Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve.
On a fantastic earlier holiday on Manitoulin, it had been exciting crossing
these same blue waters aboard the M.S.Chi-Cheemaun Ferry.
We smile remembering the colourful annual Cultural Festival (traditional
dancing, drumming, costumes, art displays), and the group of hospitable
aboriginal people enjoying their family reunion at the north shore, who
chatted and joked with us, and invited us along on a motorboat ride to
Killarney. Great fun!
